Evaluation of the Dutch Government Migration and Development Policy: Final Report In 2008, The Dutch Government published a Migration and Development Policy which acknowledged the potential role of migrants in the development of their home country. It was concluded that government policy could make a modest contribution in strengthening the positive effects of migration on development and mitigating any negative effects. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed the Pantenia/Research for Policy and the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance (MGSoG) as partners in evaluating this implementation of this policy. The evaluation was implemented between February 2012 and May 2012. MGSoG was involved in the creation of 5 case study report, which fed into the final report (available in Dutch with an English executive summary). |

UNHCR Shelter Assistance Evaluation (2012-2013) The UNHCR Shelter Assistance Evaluation UNHCR's Shelter Assistance Programme has provided, since 2002, nearly 216,000 units of shelter to vulnerable returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) throughout Afghanistan. The programme has been subjected to technical and financial reviews and its design and implementation procedures have been improved over the years. However its contribution to reintegration outcomes, defined as achieving sustainable return and parity between returnees and other members of the local community, has not been researched. The Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, in conjunction with Samuel Hall Research Consultancy will implement this evaluation. |
||
International Civic Integration Network (2012-2013) The International Civic Integration Network is a project sponsored by the Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs and implemented by the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance in partnership with Panteia/Research voor Beleid. Key aspects of the project will include three working visits to France, Germany and the UK with the primary goal being the establishment of networks for the sharing of ideas and experiences; and a concluding meeting in the Netherlands. Preparatory country reports and a final report will be produced. The first visit to Paris took place on the 25th October 2012 where PhD candidate, Özge Bilgili, acted as the Academic chair of the visit which involved presentations and discussions.
