Dr. Ayokunu (‘Ayo’) Adedokun is a political scientist, international development specialist and peacebuilding practitioner. He is currently a University Lecturer and Academic Mentor at Leiden University College (LUC) in the Hague, where he teaches courses on the politics and development of Africa, institutions for governance and development, public policy analysis and global challenges. Prior to joining LUC,  Ayo served as the Special Adviser on Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution to the government of Nigeria in Kaduna State. Before joining the government of Nigeria as a policy adviser, he was an Assistant Professor of politics and international relations at American University of Nigeria (AUN). And prior to joining AUN, Ayo was a research fellow at the United Nations University in the Netherlands (UNU-MERIT), where he also received his PhD. He completed a Master of Philosophy in International Development from the University of Oxford as a Clarendon Scholar, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Lagos in Nigeria.
