4. Governance and institutions
In India since 2011, I lead research, consulting and teaching on innovation, entrepreneurship and skilling for public purpose and social impact. I have undertaken projects in multiple South Asian countries across a number of critical needs sectors, as well as in the creative industries. I work with partners ranging from academic institutions and think-tanks to multilateral agencies, impact investors, incubators, the public sector, corporates, startups, social enterprises, foundations and civil society. I regularly participate in workshops, speak at conferences, sit on investment panels and advise private as well as social sector organisations and startups.
I run Inblick Innovation Advisory which I started in 2017, in order to undertake collaborate research, consulting and teaching on innovation, entrepreneurship and skilling for social impact. I am also a Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation where I focus on the future of work and on innovation in the creative industries. Previously, I was Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Okapi, where I built a research and consulting portfolio on social innovation and entrepreneurship. Before that, I co-led research at Intellecap, Mumbai; and was Assistant Professor at Azim Premji University, Bangalore, where I was part of the team setting up an MA Development. Prior to moving to India, I was a researcher on innovation and technology policy with UNU-MERIT. I hold a PhD in Economics and Policy of Technical Change from UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University, an MSc in Business Economics from City, University of London, and a PG Diploma in Modern & Contemporary Indian Art History and Curatorial Studies from the Bhau Daji Lad Museum in Mumbai.
