2023 Spring School on Economic Fitness and Complexity:
Presentation of the 'Handbook on Economic Complexity for Policy' by the Joint Research Centre – European Commission and roundtable discussion

About the sessions

On June 9th, during the 2023 Economic Fitness and Complexity spring school, there will be two online sessions that are open to the public.

The first session will be the presentation of the policy-relevant work done using Economic Complexity techniques at the Joint Research Centre - European Commission and at the International Finance Corporation - World Bank Group. These works are collected and explained in detail in the new book titled 'Handbook of Economic Complexity for Policy', co-edited by the two institutions.

The book launch will be followed by a roundtable discussion on 'Economic Complexity for Policy', during which the authors will discuss with Giovanni Dosi, Nanditha Mathew and Luc Soete the policy solutions already analysed within the economic complexity framework and how to push the frontier further in addressing timely policy issues, such as the digital and sustainable transition.

About the spring school

The spring school will take place on 5-9 June, 2023 in the Enrico Fermi Research Center and is co-organised by the Enrico Fermi Research Centre - CREF and UNU-MERIT, in collaboration with the Young Scholar Initiative of the Institute of New Economic Thinking, and the Joint Research Center of the European Commission.
