May Event Series: Policy Research Panel

During this week, UNU-MERIT will formally launch our new Policy Action Lab in which students and researchers will work together with policy and other societal stakeholders in relation to various concrete policy challenges focussed on accelerating sustainable development transition. This new initiative will make a connection between UNU-MERIT’s work on research and education and wider societal challenges in order to inform concrete pathways for transition, as well as policy recommendations.

In this panel sesion, we will discuss with different policy actors the outcomes of the first workshop of the Policy Action Lab (Friday 13 May 2022) on accelerating inclusive socio-technological transitions. During an open debate, we will explore what role researchers can take in engaging with policy actors and other societal partners. What role can researchers fulfil in informing policy? And what are some of the dos and don’ts?
