During this webinar, Specialisation Coordinator Eleonora Nillesen will deep-dive into the contents and specificities of the specialisation. With the support of our current master’s students and alumni, it will be a session dedicated to answering your questions and providing you with all of the information necessary to assist you in choosing your MPP specialisation.

The specialisation in Risk and Vulnerability is one of the seven specialisations offered within the Master of Science in Public Policy and Human Development, a one-year double-degree programme run by United Nations University-MERIT and Maastricht University in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

This specialisation deals with the key geospatial, governance, and social aspects in disaster risk assessment, resilience building, crisis management, and the role of risk perceptions therein. Students are exposed to diverse vulnerability and resilience dimensions, components, databases, assessment frameworks and analytical techniques. The specialisation is taught in collaboration with the UNU Environment and Human Security institute (UNU-EHS) in Bonn, Germany.
