Visualizing spatial data with R

METECH Group & the Migration Group are happy to invite you to the online workshop on Visualizing spatial data with R. In this workshop you will learn how to plot spatial data in R by using the tmap package. This package is an implementation of the grammar of graphics for thematic maps, and resembles the syntax of ggplot2. This package is useful for both explorationand publication of spatial data, and offers both static and interactive plotting.
Requirements:
Please install the tmap package in your Rstudio before the workshop. For instructions on how to do this and more information about the workshop, you can visit Martijn's github.

About the speaker
Dr. Martijn Tennekes holds a PhD in game theory from the Department of Knowledge Engineering of Maastricht University and currently works as a Data Scientist for CBS (Statistics Netherlands).
