Intuition tells us that a labour-saving technology should have a strong impact on household welfare: the technology adoption frees up time enabling households to increase production or increase leisure. This book is a collection of essays that investigate the impact of water supply labour-saving technology on household production. Individually, each essay explores different parts of household production. Together, they provide a holistic picture of the technology's overall impact on household welfare.
