Accessing up-to-date and relevant data on landuse is important in many policy areas. Conventional surveys and census either do not exist or struggle to keep pace with rapid changes. We will see how remote sensing and GIS can “fill the gaps” in providing timely data around issues such as city expansion, food security and landuse conflicts between agriculture and urban.
