Changing gender relations in the EU: reflections on differences that matter
Mieke Verloo, Institute for Gender Studies
About the speaker
Mieke Verloo is professor of Comparative Politics and Inequality Issues at the department of Political Science at the Institute for Gender Studies. Her research, consultancy, and teaching revolve around the analysis, development and design of gender equality policies in Europe. Right now, she concentrates on what ‘gender' means in gender equality policies (focus on men also, focus on gender identity and gender expression) and increasingly linking theoretical and empirical attention for strategies against gender inequality to other axes of privilege and power, such as race/ethnicity, class and sexuality.
