Dr. Feng Zhen
1. Economics of Knowledge and Innovation
ZHEN Feng is Associate Professor of economics at the School of Statistics, Renmin University of China, and an affiliated researcher at UNU-MERIT. He holds a PhD in economics from Renmin University of China. He has worked as an economist at the headquarters of the Bank of China, as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Science, and as an assistant professor at the Central University of Finance and Economics. He has also worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, a visiting researcher at CREST- INSEE, and an elected member of the International Statistical Institute. His research areas mainly focus on applied statistics, firm and industrial innovation and competition, and international finance and banking, especially on the topic of internationalisation of the renminbi. He has done consulting work for the broader Chinese central government such as the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the National Bureau of Statistics, the State Intellectual Property Office, and local governments such as Beijing, Zhejiang, Tibet, Shenzhen and Macau.
