Julian Kortendieck


PhD fellow

Julian Kortendieck is a PhD fellow of the part-time program at UNU-MERIT. His research focuses on the impact of subsidized IT training programs for the unemployed. 

He holds a BA in Business and Economics from the FAU Friedrich Alexander University in Nuremberg and an MSc in Business from the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. His educational focus lay in applied statistics and business analytics. 

Julian has a background as Data Scientist. In 2021 he joined the ReDI School of Digital Integration as Tech Education Lead. The Organization is a network of non-profit coding schools providing free IT education, primarily to people who have experienced displacement & forced migration. His activities include designing, planning, and implementing tech educational curricula.

His research interest lies in identifying success factors of active labor market training programs for tech jobs.
