Laisa Daza Obando


PhD fellow

Laisa Daza Obando is a GPAC PhD Fellow at UNU-MERIT / Maastricht University, researching the impact of natural hazard events on education outcomes and the resilience of education systems to these shocks, with a focus on developing countries. She is from Bolivia and has been working in the field of international development for over ten years and is currently a consultant at the World Bank Group working across various regions on topics related to school infrastructure, education, natural disasters, and climate change at the Global Program for Safer Schools. She holds a B.A in International Affairs from American University and a M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in Washington DC.
