Clara Alberola is a research officer for the Migration Research Group at UNU-MERIT and its School of Governance. She holds an M.Sc. in Public Policy and Human Development from United Nations University/Maastricht University, where she specialised in Migration Studies and wrote her master thesis on the gendered experiences of corruption at the Spanish-Moroccan borders. She previously received a BA in Political Sciences (Hons.), with a minor in International Relations from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. Since she joined the research team in October 2017, she has provided assistance to several migration-themed research projects for institutions such as IOM, ICMPD and GIZ. Her research interests lie in the field of migration and gender-mainstreaming.
