Katharina Koch currently works as an education and research officer at UNU-MERIT, where she joined the Migration Research Group in September 2017. Katharina was first an intern with the Migration Research Group during the summer of 2016. During her time as an intern, she was involved with a study commissioned by the European Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality entitled “International Marriage Brokers and Mail Order brides: Analysing the need for regulation.” Katharina holds a master’s (MSc) degree in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and a bachelor’s (BSc) degree in Biology, with a minor in International Studies, from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Her main areas of interest are migration and health, specifically mental health.
