Katharina Koch currently works as an education and research officer at UNU-MERIT. She joined the Migration Research Group in September 2017. At the start of her position, she was involved with a study commissioned by the European Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality entitled “International Marriage Brokers and Mail Order brides: Analysing the need for regulation.” She has since been involved with numerous diaspora mapping studies, e.g., for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and is currently supporting the launch of the Health and Migration Collaborative Community web site. Katharina holds an MSc in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and a BSc in Biology, with a minor in International Studies, from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Her main areas of interest are migration and health, specifically mental health.
