Anny Yip-Ching Yu is a research analyst at the IOM Asia-Pacific Regional Data Hub. She holds a PhD in Economics and Governance from UNU-MERIT / Maastricht University, and a master's degree in Public Policy and Human Development with a specialization in Social Protection Policy Design and Financing from the same university. She is affiliated to Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and was a visting researcher at the Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE) of Sciences Po Paris.
Her doctoral research explores the immigrant welfare receipt dynamics in the Netherlands using the Dutch registry data. Her main research interests lie in social protection system strengthening, poverty and inequality, immigrant integration, labour market segmentation and social mobility. She taught graduate courses on quantitative methods of policy analysis, including poverty and inequality analysis, micro-simulation and impact evaluation. She has worked on a variety of social protection, migration and health related research projects for several institutions including UNU-MERIT / MGSoG, European Commission, IOM and University of Bremen.
