Inez Roosen obtained a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Human Development with a specialization in Migration studies at UNU-MERIT/MGSoG. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at Maastricht University. During her studies at the UNU-MERIT/MGSoG, she interned at the Migration Group where she was part of the Migration and Health project – Evidence from Demographic and Health Survey (DHS), where she analysed the DHS for Afghanistan. After her studies, she continued working for the Migration Group supporting numerous migration projects where she gained competency in both qualitative and quantitative migration research techniques. Her main research interest is in the area of migration and development, studying the link between health and migration, particularly the influence of social remittances on health outcomes.
