Hassen Wako holds PhD in Economics from Maastricht University (2018), and MSc in Economics (Economic Policy Analysis) (2008) & BA in Economics (2004) from Addis Ababa University. He is currently a lecturer at the University of  Amsterdam, Amsterdam School of Economics. He had previously taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses at Jimma University, Maastricht University and GUTech, and supervised master’s theses at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He has published in Journal of Comparative Economics, Review of Development Economics, Research in Globalization and others. His research interest lies in economic development, with focus on the interplay between development, economic globalization and institutions. He is also interested in applied econometrics.
