Jennifer Waidler is a PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT since September 2013. She holds a Masters in Public Policy and Human Development from Maastricht University, and a degree in Business Administration from the university Carlos III de Madrid. Since joining UNU-MERIT, Jennifer has worked as a researcher on a variety of migration and social protection related projects for several institutions including the World Bank, The European Commission, and the Overseas Development Institute. She is regularly involved in teaching at the master's and bachelor's level on topics such as poverty and inequality, econometrics and multidimensional poverty.

Jennifer has rich experience in designing, evaluating and analyzing large scale household surveys as well as applying cross-sectional and panel data econometric techniques. Her PhD thesis focuses on the effects of public and private transfers on different well-being indicators in developing countries, and her main areas of interest/ expertise include multidimensional poverty measurement, impact evaluation, food security, subjective well-being, expenditure behavior, and applied micro-econometrics.
