Dr. Mahmut Kobal is an affiliated researcher at UNU-MERIT / Maastricht University. His research focuses on the European customs union and on international trade. Dr. Kobal works on institutional and organizational change, compliance, public and private administrative performance and on corresponding policy changes such as the SAFE Framework on Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade by the World Customs Organization and the e-Customs initiative of the European Commission.
