Michael Verba is senior member of TILEC at Tilburg University and Affiliated Researcher at UNU-MERIT. He has held positions and taught at Tilburg University, Utrecht University and Maastricht University and has worked at or performed consulting projects for various government agencies, including the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands.

Michael's primary research interests are in the phenomenon of innovation and the methodology of policy analysis. His research addresses topics in economics of innovation, innovation policy, patentometrics, and the design of intellectual property institutions.

He holds an MPA in Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University, and a PhD from United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT). ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1665-9702
