Prof. Dr. Franz Palm
Franz C. Palm was appointed Academy Professor in Econometrics by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2005. He has been a professor of econometrics at Maastricht University (since 1985) and at the Free University, Amsterdam, 1980-1985. He served three terms as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Maastricht University between 1986 and 2006. He holds a PhD. degree in economics/econometrics from the University of Louvain. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Louvain and at the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago, and a visiting fellow at Harvard University and at Université de Montréal. He is a fellow of the American Statistical Association, the European Economic Association and CESifo, and a foreign member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. Franz C. Palm is founding co-editor of the Journal of Empirical Finance, member of the editorial board of De Economist, and associate editor of the Journal of Econometrics.
