Educational background
Thuy first obtained a BA in finance from National Economics University in Vietnam (with highest honour). Subsequently she got a full scholarship from the Vietnam Young Leader Awards program and obtained her Master of Public Affairs in Policy Analysis at School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University, USA.

Professional background
Thuy  has experience working for both private and public sectors. She worked for the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, then as a researcher at the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam.
In 2015, she was a visiting scholar at Indiana University and also carried out research and attended courses, seminars and workshops at Harvard Kennedy School and MIT Sloan School of Management. 

Research interests
Thuy does research on a variety of topics in development economics such as corruption, growth, and FDI.
