Sarah Roeder is a researcher at UNU-MERIT/MGSoG. She joined the Migration Research Group in October 2018, where she has since been involed in projects relating to migration (amongst others, the European Commission's H2020 REMINDER project) and gender & corruption. Her main areas of interest are migration and development, gendered migration, forced migration and refugee (mental) health.

Sarah holds an MSc in Public Policy and Human Development from Maastricht University/UNU-MERIT, with a specialisation in Migration and Innovation Studies. Her thesis focused on mental health care access for Syrian refugee women in Germany. Prior to that, she obtained a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Middlesex University in London (2013) and worked in research/clinical administration in the Research Psychiatry Department at Trinity College Dublin and as a Counsellor in various non-for-profit organisations in the Greater Dublin Area. She speaks fluent Spanish, German and English, and has working knowledge of French and Portuguese.
