Sarah Roeder is a researcher within the Migration Group at UNU-MERIT. Sarah obtained an MSc in Public Policy and Human Development from Maastricht University/UNU-MERIT, with a specialisation in Migration and Innovation Studies. Her thesis centred around mental health care access for Syrian refugee women in Germany. After her studies at UNU-MERIT, she interned at the Migration Group where she was involved with the European Commission’s H2020 REMINDER project on intra-EU mobility.

Prior to joining UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University, Sarah obtained her BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Middlesex University in London in 2013. She worked as an Executive Assistant to the Professor of Research Psychiatry at Trinity College Dublin and volunteered as a counsellor in different non-for-profit organizations in the Dublin area. Her main areas of interest are migration and health, particularly mental health.
