Valentina has been working for UNU-MERIT/MGSoG since September 2016, first as an intern and now as a Research Assistant. She contributed to a study on child wellbeing and social budgeting in Montserrat and the British Virgin Islands commissioned by UNICEF.  She is also involved in the Social Protection Specialization of the MPP program as a technical tutor and teacher assistant.

Valentina holds a MSc in Public Policy and Human Development from MGSoG/United Nations University, where she specialized in Social Protection Policy Design and Financing graduating with a thesis on the gendered dimension of poverty in the Caribbean. She also holds a Bachelor in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Trieste.

Her research interests include social protection design and evaluation; educational policy; and poverty, inequality, and social mobility with a regional focus on Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
