Emanuela Sirtori is a PhD fellow on the GPAC2 Dual Career Training Program at UNU-MERIT. Emanuela’s research interest is focused on technological change and innovation. More specifically, her PhD research will contribute to explore the relationship between evolving technologies and market dynamics, by studying the behaviour of firms in the technological transition process. Her empirical research will analyse the case of light-emitting diode (LED) technologies adopted in the solid-state lighting (SSL) industry. Emanuela holds a M.A. in Economics from the University of Milan-Bicocca and since 2009 she works as researcher at CSIL – Centre for Industrial Studies (Milan, Italy). She is in an expert in the field of regional development, research, development, innovation and industrial policy. Over the years, Emanuela has been involved in different research and evaluation studies on behalf of the European Parliament and the European Commission – DG Enterprise and Industry, DG Research and Innovation, DG Enlargement and DG Regional and Urban Policy, but also the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and the European Investment Bank.
