Yip-Ching Yu (Anny) currently works at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) where she leads migration research and data analysis activities of the Regional Data Hub for Asia and the Pacific. She holds a PhD in Economics and Governance for Development from UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University, and a master's degree in Public Policy and Human Development with a specialization in Social Protection Policy Design and Financing from the same universities. She was an affiliate at Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and a visting researcher at Sciences Po Paris. 

Her doctoral research explores the immigrant welfare receipt dynamics in the Netherlands using the Dutch administrative data. Her main research interests lie in social protection system strengthening, poverty and inequality, migrant integration, labour market segmentation and social mobility. She taught graduate courses on quantitative methods of policy analysis, including poverty and inequality analysis, micro-simulation and impact evaluation. With over 8 years of experience, she has worked on a variety of migration, social protection and health related research projects for several institutions including the IOM, European Commission, University of Bremen, University of Ghent and Maastricht Graduate School of Governance.
