8. Population, Development and Labour Economics
Purity Njagi is a GPAC2 PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT since 2016. She holds two master degrees in Demography and Statistics; and a Bachelor of education in Economics from the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
She is a Monitoring and Evaluation professional specializing in Population, Health, and Social protection programs. She has worked and consulted for various international agencies across Africa. Her interest is in strengthening the capacity of organizations and government agencies, to generate and use evidence to inform better policy decisions.
Her PhD research focuses on Financial inequity in healthcare, the associated socioeconomic disadvantages and policy implications in Sub-Saharan Africa.
