Tigist Mekonnen Melesse has obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Maastricht University, Netherlands. She is also affiliated to the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA-EASST), University of California Berkeley and collaborated researcher at United Nation University- UNU-MERIT, the Netherlands. Tigist has extensively engaged in Evidence-based policy researches in Development Economics. Her research focuses on Agriculture, Poverty and Social Impact Analysis and Impact Evaluation of Development Programs and Policies using large panel household surveys. Tigist has experience in teaching at Maastricht University (Netherlands) and Jimma University (Ethiopia). She participates and presents her works at international conferences including the Western Economic Association International Annual Conference in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada and the World Bank Annual conference in Stanford, California. She also participates in policy forums such as the Working Group in African Political Economy Annual meeting at the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, Tigist is a consultant at the World Bank in Washington DC, USA.
