Ana Cristina Calderon Ramirez

PhD fellow

Ana Cristina Calderon Ramirez is a PhD fellow on the GPAC2 Dual Career Training Program at UNU-MERIT, where her research interest is focused on the organizational structures of public procurement units and their effects in the efficiency of public procurement sector in Latin America. She holds a B.A in government and public affairs from Universidad Externado de Colombia and a Master’s degree in social policy and development from the London school of economics. She is currently working at the Fiscal Management Division in the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) in Washington DC, where she provides advice on public reforms, the use of information technologies and the development of institutional capacity in public procurement systems in Latin America. She previously worked at the Bank´s project procurement office and the Social sector in issues related to international cooperation, compliance assessments, aid effectiveness and the strengthening and use of country procurement systems for aid delivery.
