FINISH, or 'Financial Inclusion Improves Sanitation and Health', aims to expand sanitation coverage in rural India while providing basic health insurance. To promote this much neglected field, UNU-MERIT and partners organized a 'Sanitation Challenge' focusing on novel designs, materials and processes. This year's winners were announced by Dr Shyama Ramani at a ceremony in New Delhi on World Water Day: 22 March 2011.
