Theophile Azomahou is Professorial (Senior Research) Fellow at United Nations University (UNU-MERIT) and Professor of Development Economics at Maastricht University (the Economics Department) where he holds the chair of Development Economics. He was previously assistant and associate Professor of Economics at University of Strasbourg, invited Professor at University of Luxembourg, University of Montpellier 1 and University of Lorraine. He has occupied the chair of Econometrics at The Ecole des Ponts ParisTech (Paris), one of the world's oldest engineering institutes which has been training the elite of French engineers for over two centuries. He completed his MSc in quantitative economics, a PhD and the Habilitation degree in Economics at University of Strasbourg. He currently coordinates the UNU-MERIT research theme on `Economic Development, Innovation, Governance and Institutions'. Theophile Azomahou research interest includes development economics, econometrics and economic theory.
