Thanks the God, I have finally arrived in Maastricht after 29 hours of journey from Peking. It is my pleasure to study and work in UNU-MERIT for a whole year. I am a PhD candidate in Renmin University of China (RUC). Under the guidance of Prof. Mohnen in MERIT and Prof. ZHAO Yanyun in CAS (Centre for Applied Statistics, RUC), I will concentrate my work on the doctoral thesis: Micro-based Evidence of Innovation on Productivity and Industry Competition: statistical Measurement based on China Enterprises Data.
An old Chinese saying goes like this: reading ten thousands volumes of books while travelling ten thousands of miles, which emphasizes the significance of the combination between theories and practice. Working in the best research centre of innovation study in Europe continent, I look forward to exchanging ideas with people from developed and developing areas. Living in the centre of Europe gives me a lot of convenience for travelling. It's easy for me to walk to Belgium, ride a bicycle to Germany and travel around the most developed areas of the world to get familiar with verified culture and history. It is my honour to live and work with all of you, my dear friends from all over the world.
