Between 2004 and 2006, Bilal have worked at the Faculty of Management Sciences at International Islamic University in Islamabad, and served as a Research Associate on a project supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Between November 2005 and May 2006, Bilal led a trainer of trainers (ToT) course for Communication & Presentation Skills & Human resource Management at National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), Pakistan.
Bilal took Masters Degree in Management of Technology, jointly offered by University of Lausanne & Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL/ETHL) Lausanne, Switzerland in 2003-04 and MBA from University Institute of Management Sciences (UIMS-UAAR) in Rawalpindi, Pakistan during 1999-01.
Bilal have also participated in several short courses and international exchange programmes including a certificate in Global Strategic Management from the Copehnagen Business School, Denmark; accepted for the training programme in Science, Technology & Innovation at J.F.Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, USA; and have also participated in the Design and Evaluation of Innovation Policy (DEIP) Programme at UNU-MERIT in 2005.
Presently Bilal is working as a PhD Researcher in Innovations Studies and Development since 2006 on project entitled 'Energy Sources, Energy Poverty and Socio-Economic Development of Rural Communities', under the supervision of Dr. Rene Kemp (UNU-MERIT & ICIS-UM). The research project will explore the impact of the use of different energy sources in households and their role in rural socio-economic development with a keen focus on the changing energy market structure in developing countries. Bilal's research interests include Energy Systems, Energy Poverty, Renewable Energy Markets and Technologies, specifically in context of developing countries. |
