Manisha Mukherjee is a Ph.D. Fellow at UNU-MERIT. Her research focuses on climate change-induced migration in India and its consequences on labor market outcomes and within-country economic inequalities.

Before joining UNU-MERIT as a Doctoral Fellow, she worked as a Research Assistant in Climate Change and Sustainable Development team at ICRIER, New Delhi. At ICRIER, she worked on a project funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, on designing policy recommendations on efficient municipal solid waste (MSW) management in the Indian Himalayan Region. She was also engaged in developing research grant proposals on indigenous battery manufacturing for electric vehicles (EVs) in India and assessing India's recycling potential of Lithium-ion Batteries.


Manisha holds a Bachelors in Economics from Presidency University, Kolkata, India, and a Masters in Quantitative Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata Centre, India.
