Caroline Wehner is a Senior Researcher and Project Leader at the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). Between 2011 and 2017, she was a Resident Research Affiliate at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA).

She holds a PhD in Economics from Maastricht University and a diploma in Economics (equiv. M.A.) from Cologne University.

She is a Research Affiliate at IZA and a Research Fellow at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market at Maastricht University (ROA) and the United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT).

Since 2018, she gives a research seminar for bachelor students on "Working Conditions in Germany" at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Science at University of Cologne, Germany. Moreover, she is supervising two PhD thesis in cooperation with the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University, The Netherlands. Previously, she supervised a bachelor thesis in cooperation with the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Science at University of Cologne, Germany and participated in teaching a research seminar for master students in cooperation with the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University, The Netherland.

Her research interest is behavioural, education and labour economics as well as management practice related to recruitment and training.
