Dr. Katrin Marchand is a researcher at UNU-MERIT, Maastricht University. Her main research interests are in migration and development, specifically issues related to labour migration and diaspora engagement. She holds a PhD from Maastricht University, a MSc in Public Policy and Human Development (MPP) from the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance and a Diplom in Economics from the University of Trier. Since 2010, she has been working as a researcher on a variety of projects in the field of migration using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Among these were evaluations of programmes and policies, migration profiles and mappings as well as extensive literature reviews. Currently, Katrin is mainly working on accompanying scientific research for several labour mobility schemes and the H2020 MIGNEX project. In addition, she is responsible for UNU-MERIT's online courses in the field of migration, is actively engaged in (executive) education and is the head of the board of admissions of the MPP.
